Back in the 70′s we had Harry’s Day…

Then about 25 years ago the story is that 2 loyal Democrats Bill Baker and Lu Vaughn were traveling on the way back from Jackson Days in Springfield, while driving back the idea of a Jackson County celebration was born, well at least that’s the way I’ve heard it.  Whatever happened the Jackson County Truman’s Day event was born.Truman Days turns 24 years old this year in large part due to the efforts of these 2 gentleman and countless other loyal and hard working Democrats to celebrate Missouri’s only President Harry Truman. Every year for the past 24 years we have gathered early in May with Democrats from all over the state of Missouri.
